A neon sign that says 'holy shit'

Chiron Square Natal Chiron Transit

I’m currently going through my second Chiron square transit. My first one was early on—when I was about 5 years old. Then I went through a Chiron opposition transit at the age of 13. And now, onto the second Chiron square transit, which has been visiting me on and off for the last year because madam Chiron keeps going back and forth due to retrograde motion. Moreover, this transit will hit exact two more times for me in the next 7 months. Nice.

So how is it going for me? Let’s just say this transit is a mess. A bigger mess than you’re imagining it. Am I scaring you? Good.

At the age of 5, I experienced a trauma that made a long-term impression on me. I’m still healing from it. For the opposition transit at the age of 13, it manifested as a severe illness and I remember that I was bedridden for about a month or more. And now this second Chiron square transit is here. Sure, there are other tough transits like the Saturn return, but from my experience, Chiron transits are a different kind of misery – especially if it’s a square. It feels like I have entered a dark cave and found out that it’s a get together of all the monsters that have ever haunted me in my whole life. They are coming to you one by one to say hello.

Books and the internet will tell you how this transit cracks you open through pain, that it is a wounded healer, and yes, that’s true. I know this transit is changing me, and I like what I’m becoming. But I’m here to acknowledge that this transit is truly F’ed up. I have no other inspirational talk at this point.

There will be a Chiron return at 50 which is popularly known as ‘midlife crisis’ and apparently, if you are lucky to live long enough another Chiron square Chiron transit to be experienced in life. There are books and articles that will tell you about the horrors of Chiron return. But it’s been said that the next Chiron square Chiron after your second one could be more creative and easier as you have already learned more about yourself by that time.

Most of us probably don’t follow Chiron transits too seriously. But I recommend identifying this one transit for yourself. This transit is not talked about enough despite the strong experiences that it represents. If you’re already going through it, sending healing hugs your way. And if you’re about to enter it, just go gentle on yourself. Life is karmic, and I guess the acceptance of our suffering brings a certain peace of mind.
