April is expected to be a period of resolve, relief, and initiation. During the first week of the month we’re finishing up the first eclipse season of the year. By 15 April, both Mercury and Venus will be direct. I know we are tired. The planetary transits are telling us that the hope is on the horizon. Hope might not be a bed of roses, but rather a resolve, a decision, or a shift in perception—one that allows us to take action and move forward.
Aligning with the essence of Aries representing new beginnings, I’m making new additions to the monthly astrological calendar. Along with the major planetary shifts, from now on, I’m marking the Moon signs and ‘Void of Course (VOC)’ for each day of the month.
In a nutshell, VOC is the transition period of the Moon from sign to another. This period is known to create an energetic void and therefore astrologers recommend not making any major decisions during this time. This is a time to rest and reflect. I have been a rigorous follower of the movements of the Moon and I noticed that I often experience a mental blur or lack of energy during the VOC hours.
The calendar is following Eastern Daylight Time (EDT). Based on where you’re located, the VOC hours might be different – hence I decided not to mention the specific hours in the calendar. I highly recommend downloading an app on your phone that will help you track the sign and the transition of the Moon. This will allow you to enjoy being a more conscious observer of the Moon energy.

April 07 – Mercury goes direct in Pisces: Our communications and thinking will receive a refresh. Although for the next couple of weeks, mercury is still in its shadow period. Therefore, let’s remain cautious in our mercury ruled areas. I would advise doing the taxes when mercury goes direct – if that’s an option for you. But I also don’t want to be fear-mongering. Fulfilling responsibilities and having trust in ourselves truimphs over any energy.
April 12 – Full Moon in Libra: Libra represents partnership, mitigation, justice. Areas of our lives that are going through disruption might receive an important milestone towards a resolve. The resolve might be about receiving a new understanding or an event that settles the matter or a person of Venus nature impacting our lives. Full Moon is time for us to reflect on what has been unfolding for us. Take some time off for yourself on this day. Perhaps indulge in self care, meditate, and populate your gratitude journal.
April 13 – Venus goes direct in Pisces: Right after a full Moon in Libra that is ruled by Venus, the Venus is going direct. Robert hand, writer of the famous book “Planets in Transit”, once said that no transit takes places in a vacuum. This is a great example of this statement. It’s almost as if the Venus is waking up by the touch of the full Moon energy! We can definitely expect our Venus governed areas to receive a boost. Our friends with Pisces placements can also expect a positive shift in the areas of love, beauty, luxury, comfort, art, etc. I must say, I’m very excited about this time of the month. And yes, we can finally schedule that haircut that we have been postponing for so long!
April 19 – Mars enter Leo: The areas of our birth chart governed by Leo and our Leo placements with receive an activation by the Mars energy. Mars is not only aggression and fights, but it also represents taking risks, showing courage, engaging in physical activities (sports, exercise), taking new initiatives etc. Let’s be mindful of the negative manifestations of Mars such as being compulsive in the Leo governed areas of our charts. Remember, we always have choice about how we react. And let’s utilize the positive manifestation of Mars for the goodness of ourselves, the others, and the world.
April 20 – Sun enters Taurus: The day after Mars enters Leo, the sign ruled by the Sun, the Sun enters Taurus. As if Mars in Leo is activating the Sun in Taurus and officially initiating the Taurus season. The areas governed by the sign Taurus will be in our conscious attention for the next month. As we know, Taurus is ruled by the Venus. With the Venus going direct recently, it will be positive time for us to take action and make strides in these areas of our lives.
April 27 – New Moon in Taurus: Many thoughts related to the Taurus-governed areas of our life will be planted in our conscious mind in the last few weeks. This new Moon is the time where we initiate our desire about how we want to transform those matters. Let’s plant a new seed in the fertile soil of Taurus, blessed by the Venus during this new Moon. And the journey continues…
I want to end this post by reminding you that astrology is the study of energy. Just as we observe flocks of birds rushing home or the enchanting scent of the earth before a rainstorm, we understand that neither the birds nor the scent causes the rain. Similarly, planetary transits serve as a tracking method for universal energy—they do not cause it. Moreover, we are always provided with the choice of how we react, transform, and even manifest the energy. We are the co-creators. Therefore, it is essential to remain humble to the universal energy that is beyond our control, and at the same time – it’s also important to remain dignified knowing that we have a co-creating authority. Wishing you all the best for the month of April!
