Uranus in Taurus Transit and a Lesson in Security

Uranus has been transiting the sign of Taurus since May 2018 and will complete its journey before moving into Gemini in April 2026. This eight-year-long transit is now in its final lap, making it the perfect time to look back and make sense of the story it has unfolded for us.

Uranus went direct yesterday (January 30, 2025) in the sign of Taurus after a five-month-long retrograde period that began in September 2024. As I write this post, my heart is filled with a sense of relief and a newfound understanding of Uranus’s nature.

Everyone is experiencing this momentum in some areas of their lives, but some of us are feeling it more intensely. If you have major Taurus or Aquarius placements or if Uranus plays a prominent role in your chart you may be sensing this shift more profoundly than others.

If this resonates with you, I invite you to reflect with me on what security means to you in this post.

My Personal Journey with the Uranus in Taurus Transit

Uranus has been transiting my 10th house in Taurus for seven years. In the first year, I moved to a new country alone, with no support system, and struggled to find stable housing.

I went back to school to revamp my career, which helped me land a job and build a sense of community. However, career stability proved elusive. I kept finding myself in unhealthy work environments with bad managers. At first, I tried to fit in to maintain job security, but the instability continued. This was especially difficult because I deeply value stability.

Eventually, after a work contract ended, I stopped actively searching for a new job. Ironically, that’s when I began attracting seemingly “secure” opportunities with little effort. But these jobs, despite appearing as blessings, followed the same dysfunctional patterns, revealing that my struggle was never about security itself.

I realized that in my desperate attempt to manifest security, I had ignored my passion, creativity, and purpose. I forced myself to fit into a traditional narrative of success, mistakenly framing it as the definition of security. The last two Uranus retrograde periods tore me apart, ultimately revealing the truth about my perception of security and the opportunity cost of clinging to it.

I have learned a thing or two about security by experiencing intense insecurity over the last seven years—in every area of life that truly matters to me. This blog is an attempt to outline and share these lessons.

What Security Means to Me

Security is being honest with myself so that I can trust myself.

In the past, I tried to control situations, shape people’s opinion of me, and make choices solely to maintain a sense of calm. Now, I use my principles as my guide and remind myself that I can navigate anything life throws at me. My affirmations: I can trust myself. I can rely on myself.

Security is sitting with uncertainty—and having a cup of tea with it.

I have learned that when uncertainty makes me feel helpless, the best thing I can do is fully immerse myself in that feeling. Only when I completely accept my situation does the next step become clear. The answer always reveals itself in its own time.

The idea of personal security is different for everyone.

What makes me feel secure may not be the same for you. Some people find security in their connection to family, while others derive it from their career or job stability or the money they accumulate.

Uranus in Taurus and the Second House: A Blessing in Disguise

Taurus governs the second house, which represents our assets and tangible values. Wealth, possessions, financial dealings, social status, and even our talents and abilities fall under this domain. We often see these as the foundation of our self-worth and the key to our physical, emotional, and financial security. With Uranus transiting Taurus, these areas have undergone major upheavals for all of us.

This is an opportunity for reflection. Look back and identify the area of your life that has faced the most significant disruptions over the past seven years—this area is deeply connected to your sense of self-worth. Recognizing it is the first step toward healing and growth.

Rather than resisting the instability, embrace it. Confront your fears and take the necessary leaps of faith, no matter how many it takes. Self-worth and financial abundance are directly linked—the more we invest in ourselves and recognize our value, the more opportunities and prosperity we attract into our lives.

Uranus Retrograde from September 2025 to February 2026: The Final Lesson?

The next Uranus retrograde transit will begin on September 6, 2025, in the sign of Gemini. After another five-month-long retrograde period, it will go direct again on February 3, 2026. Starting in soon after the initiation of this retrograde period, Uranus will pay one last visit to Taurus for our generation for the duration of Nov  7, 2025, to April 25, 2026.

It’s telling me a story. Today, we begin moving forward with the lessons from Uranus’s transit through Taurus. Eventually, this forward momentum will lead us into a new journey in the areas of our lives ruled by Gemini. However, we may need to revisit a matter from our Taurus-ruled house—something we’ll be called to reflect upon during the next retrograde period. The upcoming Uranus retrograde period could be the final lesson from Uranus in Taurus before we fully embrace the deeper transformation that awaits in our Gemini-ruled house and placements.

Preparing for Saturn in Taurus Transit: April 2028 to May 2030

Another significant transit to be mindful of is Saturn in Taurus, occurring from April 12, 2028, to May 31, 2030. This period will call for a more structured and disciplined approach to the areas of life governed by Taurus.

The way I see it, this transit will bring the maturation of the transformations initiated by Uranus in Taurus. Uranus encouraged us to break free and take leaps of faith, but if we have carried this change in an unsustainable way, Saturn will demand that we grow up. It will be a time of reckoning—a time to reap the harvest. Whether that harvest brings joy or hardship will depend on our commitment to Saturnian responsibility.

For example, someone may have lost a job and started a business during Uranus in Taurus, and this leap of faith might have led to great success. However, when Saturn enters Taurus, the focus will shift to sustainability. Are they maintaining operational efficiency? Following regulations? Keeping their taxes and finances in order? Investing for the future?

Saturn will hold us accountable. Those who have done their due diligence will enjoy the rewards, while others may face difficult lessons that push them to make necessary changes.

Final Words

Experiencing a major Uranus transit means embracing multiple leaps of faith. If you resist the leap, you’ll be pushed anyway.

What has your experience been with the ongoing Uranus in Taurus transit? While we’re all feeling this energy in different areas of our lives, I’ve noticed that those with major Taurus or Scorpio placements seem to be going through it the most.
